Today I am going to go way out in left field on my post, but as the title states this is just my opinion.
I was asked to try a hair removal product out and give my thoughts on how the item preformed and whether I thought it could be improved upon. I accepted and after trying the item. I just had to tell everyone about my experience...not that it was a great one.
Product I tried: The Hair Off Mitt.
I am sure you have seen the commercials on t.v. for this item and most likely have even seen it at your local Wal-mart or other favorite store. I know I had so, when I was approached about trying it I thought what the heck. I locked myself in the bathroom, open the package and pull out the tiny pink mitts. I sat there on the toilet thinking "Okay this feels like sand paper". Guess what? It IS exactly that, sand paper. Looking at my legs with only a days worth of stubble I figured it wouldn't be too bad...Yeah right!
Reading the instructions first I find that you are to use light pressure rotating the mitt in a small circular motion clockwise and then counter clock wise in the same spot without lifting it away from your skin. So I begin...my leg starts turning white from the skin being "gently exfoliated". I realize the hair is gone in the tiny spot where I had started, I thought "Cool!" Moving on I noticed my skin was slightly burning...well hello genius you are applying sand paper to your normally soft skin and it's scraping the top layer right off your leg..OUCH!
If you have ever refinished an old piece of furniture, then you know that using a very fine grain sand paper with very light pressure is the way to go. Now imagine your legs being said furniture...yep that's right it felt as if I were working on wood not my legs. Needless to say I did about half of my right leg before throwing the dang mitt in the trash and jumping in the shower to finish the old fashion way..with a lady Bic in hand! Nothing about this product left me feeling good about the effects, would I recommend this product, Yes to anyone needing a very fine sand paper for wood working projects, but for a woman to remove hair...Not a chance!
I am sure this post is so not what you were expecting, but hey I just had to share it! If you have tried this torture device made by a scorned man please feel free to share your experience with me. Have a great weekend, but stay away from the mitt from hell.
Write on wayward authors,
Jane
