I awoke this morning with a new story floating around in my head, my dream inspired a totally awesome story plot. I have been working on my second novel which is the follow up to my first, but yesterday I hit a bumpy spot and chose to step away for a little while until I could figure out a solution. Now it appears that I will be working on two books at the same time.
When my dreams bring forth the unknown voices of characters who reside deep inside of me I find them hard to resist. The MC in this new story is a high school aged girl, I haven't written in the YA genre so this will be something new and different for me. I do however love the story outline that I jotted down as soon as I got out of bed. It needs a little work to ensure the voice comes through clearly and as intentional as it is in my mind. At first I thought it would be a challenge to work on two books at the same time, but with these stories being so different I think I can manage. After all we need a little challenge in our lives right?
I'm off to make the voice in my head come alive! Have a great weekend.
Write on wayward authors,
Jane
I think you're right, we do need challenge in our lives and working on two books at the same time keeps you from thinking so much about the other one when you've hit a rough spot. Good luck with both stories!
